Exhibition at Menier Gallery
On Monday 24th October 2916 I finished hanging some new work of mine at an exhibition at Menier Gallery in London. It actually took longer to drive from Rushden to Southwark in South East London than it took to hang my work! London traffic is constant and means journey times can be doubled or even tripled.
My work consisted of 18 framed prints to be displayed along an 8m run of wall space. Thankfully the gallery has a simple hanging system which means you can hang and adjust the height and position of the images very easily. The system uses a metal bracket at the top of the wall, with a thick nylon cord attached to it. Sliding lockable clips are positioned on the nylon and adjusted to the height required for each print. I took me about an hour to hang all the prints up, and 30 mins or so to adjust them for height, spacing and look. The journey from home to the gallery took 2 1/2 hours – for a 76 mile trip.
Many of the images are of my new work, plus a few firm favourites from previous exhibitions.
The exhibition runs from 25th Oct – 29th Oct 2016
